Lahtnor is a performer, educator, photographer, model & maker of ropes from Sweden who visited us some months ago.
How did you start being interested in ropes?
I was in the Bdsm scene and I saw pictures and found it very interesting, I started using ropes for sex to spice things up,
then I got more and more interested in the aesthetic side of rope and then the more connective aspects of emotion
between two souls and rope being the tool to further elevate those feelings.
As a musician, do you find anything common between music and shibari?
Yes a lot. I apply the same discipline and structure in both practices to become greater there is some similarities to tying
With someone new as when jamming with a new musician
you get to know the person better when hearing them improvise and make decisions
the same way as you learn more of a person when tying them

Your performances contain a theatric element, do you see a connection between shibari and theater?
For me feelings and emotions can be made stronger if you believe in them.
All my emotions on stage stem from real feelings that I have and by giving my all I can make them come alive
in the heart of the audience. So when I am tying a person, all my movements are aware and decisive the same way
a theatrical performer does in order to evoke not only stronger feeling from an audience but also from my model.
Even if there is no audience I would do the same in a private session because my model would be able to feel more
of the emotions im trying to evoke in their heart.
You are mentioning at your fet profile that you are pan. Do you think it is difficult for a non cis/het person
to survive in the kink community?
not at all, the bdsm scene is in the fringe and we are all one big family and we all share the love for
the connection and playing outside our comfortzones with communication and consent being the biggest factor
all non standard ways of living/being is getting more and more awareness in our world, so is the understanding
for people living outside the norm.

Can you tell us a bit about the scene in Sweden?
Its a nice scene that is steadily growing. ropejams in the major cities and bigger ropemeets like shibaricamp
and some event organizers bringing in good rope educators here and there.
We are very inclusive with lgbtq+ community and the range of people loving rope is huge.
What we may expect from your show in Athens?
A light hearted attitude, with serious undertones Beauty and mindfuck

Do you think being fit is important in order to be involved with ropes?
Anyone can do ropes
You start with yourself and work towards your goals and by doing rope you get better with both body and mind.
The more you take care of your body the more possibilities open up for you to be able to express and sustain even greater feats
Do you have any thoughts and desires about the future of shibari?
I want continue to see the growth of people being interested in ropes as seen in the last couple of years.
I would also also want more bigger events around Europe focused more on doing ropes together and taking part in this
big extended family of like minded individuals that share the love for rope.
