Coming across Miso ‘s instagram profile, Miso Zawameki’s photographs reminded me of the personal photo diary style of contemporary Japanese and Chinese photography. After I contacted Miso , he answered me some questions about life work and sent me some wonderful pictures.
When did you start photography? what drew your attention to it?
i’ve actually been into photography since i was 17 years old. At the time i used to play music in a band and wanted to keep records of the memories. That’s how i started taking pictures.
Do you have another favorite photographer?
I dont have a favourite photographer. I try not to look at other people’s work so much so as to keep mine as original as possible.

How do you choose a model?
Basically I dont really reach out to them. If i get a request for shooting, i shoot according to the image i think best suits the model. If there is a model that I really wanna capture, i just talk to them.

I see your pictures are quite erotic. Why do you choose the erotic element?
I want to capture the real figure of the human body, and that’s always the result. I don’t really believe it to be erotic.
How do you take a picture when you shoot? Do you have a specific purpose?
I don’t have the shooting skills, so I learned the bonding in the original to make a difference from other photographers. I often take pictures of flowers with a model because I feel eros in flowers as well as humans.

Do you have any other hobbies besides photography?
I really like movies and i want to try to be a movie director someday.
Have you ever shot in a country outside Japan?
I have shot in China, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, and US.

What kind of equipment do you use?
I only use my camera and strobe light
What do others think about your photography?
I have never wondered what other people think of my photos. I just do what i wanna do.
